state grant

The verdict is in. I did not receive the grant I applied for but rather critique of the project. A thoughtful and inspiring community project.
After talking with one of my mentors I have decided to temporarily halt this endeavor in pursuit of other things. Although I will not abandon this project completely I am thinking of letting it live as it is for the time being in the form of a blog and photo gallery for the enjoyment and inspiration of anyone who happens to stumble upon it.

work in progress

I should be hearing about the state grant any day now, it would be incredible to get the grant money for this project. I have begun the web design for the project, and have ordered ballot boxes which will be placed around the state at libraries and other local business to collect goals.I have been getting quotes for printing and planning the first stages of the project.
keeping my hopes up.

Application Completed

So, I completed the state grant application and am now just waiting to hear back from them. I think I have a good chance of winning; the project is relatively simple with a huge impact potential and low start up costs. While I am waiting I will begin to find printers and suppliers, already have a tshirt printer from originalbros.com. Now its off to work.

Hello

Hello Goal Project's first post. Hello Goal Project is a design and social experiment which began in 2007 at the Rhode Island School of Design. This project was especially important to me during my coursework at RISD and is a project I have wanted to revisit and bring further for a long time. Today I began my application for the Rhode Island Design Innovation Grant which is due in October.

If I win the grant I will be awarded $6000, which I can use anyway I want. If I win I will use a majority of the money to start this project, I believe it holds serious potential and good for people.
So, right now my goal is to finish my proposal and win this thing. If I don't get the grant, I will be launching the project with my own funds in the coming months.

This project could help change the world, one goal at a time.
